Morgenland // Tea Service

The tea service Morgenland embodies an oriental form that plays with the behavior of Western tea culture. Delicate elements are made perceptible upon use and are stylistically interpreted. The set consists of a teapot, milk jug, sugar bowl, dessert plate, a cup and a saucer. This project was inspired by a visit to Istanbul, the service should formally remind of magnificent mosques from the near east.

"To design something made from porcelain is a big challenge. While designing this tea service, I have been collecting a lot of practical experience. I became familiar with the difficult conditions which porcelain involves and have learned how to design tableware, which also is producible. Another important task was to get familiar with the language of form of a tea service and to make the product usable.
Now I rule the material skillfully and can play with princess porcelain easily"

Material: Hutschenreuther porcelain, glossy glazed
